Your Potential, Your Privileges - "A blessing in disguise".

I recently watched this video by President Dieter F. Uchtdorf (LDS).  I have heard this story before so watching the video of it prompted me to write what this story did to my life from the very first time I heard it.

Like this guy on the cruise ship, many at times we miss out blessings mainly because we focus on our problems and misfortune that come along our way.  Since the very first time I heard the story, one of the idioms that has resonated with me is "A blessing in disguise".  The idiom helps me to look beyond my problems and focus on the good that would come out of the problem I would be encountering.  I look for something positive that the problem would turn to a good fortune.

This guy on the cruise ship focused on his problem and missed his privileges.  Like what President dieter F. Uchtdorf states, "Everything on board the cruise ship, the food, and entertainment, all activities had been included in the price of the ticket".  Yet the guy focused on his situation and missed it all.  I would urge us all, the next time you have a challenge, focus on the good that can come out of it.  Let your situation be a blessing in disguise.  Quit complaining about the situation and focus and try to recognize what good can come out of it.

Have  a positive attitude to help you be able to deal with your circumstances, avoid friends whose mission is to pity party your situation with sympathy and bringing negative energy to you.  Stop giving your family and friends the power to make you feel inferior about your circumstances and instead be in control and recognize that the only way to be able to manage the situation is to eliminate all uncertainty from all directions.  Assess your downside to reflect on your situation to bring ultimate positive results.

Having the right mindset in your situation will help you come out stronger and your will to come out shinning will be strengthened.  You will be able to emerge from your situation with gratitude and your outcome will be "a blessing in disguise"
